Taddeo Gaddi, Presentation of the Virgin, drawing in metalpoint on paper prepared with ground bone powder dyed green with white highlights, Paris, Musée du Louvre.
This is an extremely rare example of a preparatory study for a 14th-century fresco - the Life of the Virgin in the Baroncelli Chapel in the church of Santa Croce, Florence, painted between 1332 and 1338 - and the sole known drawing by Taddeo Gaddi.
